The Halton Region was recognized for its commitment to trenchless technology on construction projects this week. During its 20th anniversary, the North American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) recognized Halton Region for its significant contribution and education to trenchless technology, which refers to construction methods that repair, replace or install buried pipes and structures without any, or minimal, excavation. This has had an impact on the Oakville Real Estate market by keeping the road delays to a minimum while development continues in the Northern Oakville Real Estate area.
“Improving the quality of life – whether it’s helping to reduce commute times or providing Halton with clean, safe drinking water – is a top priority,” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “Using trenchless technology when repairing or installing Regional watermains and wastewater mains helps us minimize the inconvenience related to construction since we can go under roads instead of through them.”
This year alone, Halton Region is making a significant commitment to infrastructure – more than $190 million – through its Building a Better Halton plan. Building a Better Halton is the Region’s infrastructure plan for all public works projects and includes $63.4 million in water and wastewater projects and $132.6 million in transportation infrastructure improvements. This technology should continue to benefit the residents of Oakville while development of the North in the Oakville Real Estate area continues over the coming years.
